Very interesting choice in the symbolism that you used. I didn't quite get it the first time(Which is odd for me). I suppose we all feel swept away by society(I believe that's what it's about) or a person.

It's almost like you look at the rest of the world as they pass you by and the person who is honestly the one who you thought you could trust is no longer there, that they have changed so much that you're not even sure that it even existed.

ah, but alas, I'm blabbering again. Please excuse my out spoken manner.

This poem is enjoyable. It's not of my favorite subject. That being said I was able to connect with it on an oddly close scale.
