The Days Of Summer

by Kat   Sep 19, 2009

Cold sheets waiting in a dark room

No stars tonight, I make my wish on the moon.

Loneliness forgotten breeds heartache

But my hunger it will not slake.

You're in my head

Selfishness leaves most feeling dead.

And she's in your arms.

No, our sin only harms

Punishments blow so true

Cold through and through.

Reminded again,

Who we were then

I'm not the reason you're smiling

The reason you're laughing

Because she's your lady

She's your baby.

We were so much warmer

In the days of summer.

Aw, I love your work! This was so intense and full of longing, I almost wanted to cry. 5/5
