Yes, I agree.. not sure the gun should have been the weapon of choice, but it brought it back, & opened up the possibility of being King of the household, rather than Regally.. maybe the things (subjects) were a bullied wife, or children.. It made the poem into an analogy of the here and now, if you wanted to look beyond the obvious era depicted..
Anna is correct, though.. you do dark as only you do.. Haunting, descriptive, thought-provoking, and beautiful. Well done. xx

I loved your title, just had to click on the poem when I saw it and I'm so glad I did. It was indeed a dark write, done with great rhyme and flow. The story, could be about materials items or about people. Either way they were abused and taken for granted in this great verse. Particularly liked your ending, for it is true, karma will catch up with you in the end. Very enjoyable read.
