When Your Fire is but a Flicker

by Inuhanyo   Sep 23, 2009

My heart burns but it burns on low
the heat of with she does not know
the fire inside I keep
yet the pain in which it makes me weep.

I think of her day and night
wonder why I couldn't do it right
give her my love
priority all above
yet loss I receive.

She says its over
While I ponder and trip
with my heart in agony
and the flame at the tip

My wick runs low,
no wax remaining
is this the end
or will it stop raining

Every drop I lose
or the wax I ooze
I feel my life is slowly fading

Without her, is it truly worth the cost of matches?
