Look Away

by Scott E Buttross   Jun 15, 2004

Tormenting eyes
Look into blind skies
Affixed on my disguise

I look away

Nervous endings
Take neck
To avoid the meeting
Of mine eyes to your spec

I look away

To let them meet
Does no heat
For them
But not on my side

I look away

My feet grow shy
As you look at my eye
So much to hide
My pride I cover

She took away

Don’t speak
I cried
My emotions
Are weak
Still tied

Go away

Inside I mutter
To speak of it
I stutter
Confused grief
Now close my shutter

I want no other this way
She holds a ring
That chokes what I say
I lost my soul in the gutter
This day.

Forever now
Look away.
