This Night

Tear-stained memories won't die,
Pain is thicker than the air,
Misery is lost under a grey sky,
The world has become a nightmare,

Broken street lamps light the way,
Shattered windows reflect sadness,
Roads change direction each day,
This city is drowning in madness,

Rain falls silently to the ground,
Black & white signs point to hope,
Death parades fear proudly around,
This path has lost the will to cope,

Now the sun shines on broken souls,
Too late to save them from death,
Because in their hearts are holes,
And a darkness with each breath...
