As darkness falls.

by hope   Sep 24, 2009

As darkness falls around her,
Her truths they are not heard, so plainly insignificant
a child so clearly burned.

Her soul was young but broken,
she tried so deeply hard, she pushed through
every storm, she knew her day would come.

But time began to crawl and the clock struck another
day. the poor child was slowly slipping, soon
she'd start to fall.

She yelled out every day,
but it was getting late & no help had come.
So the poor child went inside, sick of this hell
she has for life.

As she drifted into sleep that night,
the child heard a voice.

Dear angel, don't be frightened,
every thing will be okay.
Just push on through tomorrow,
and i will guide you on your way.

The child found this mysterious,
as she woke up from her dream,
not knowing what was real or not,
she did just what she seemed.

That night as she anticipated, the answer
surely showed, she knew now what she had to do,
for her soul to be unburned.

Hmm, good emotions and I liked were the piece was going, but the flow was off for me. The words were beautiful but the format of the poem threw everything off, you might try changing that or reworking the piece.
