Pieces Lost

by kaylajoyx3   Sep 25, 2009

My depression drives me on a one way road
On the borderline of dropping out alone
I fed the scratches coming from the inside
With just one cut, a little piece of you dies

I can't control
Depression will crash this car
Leaving me strewn across the road
Pieces and limbs are lost and thrown

Weed, pills, and doctors can not help
I don't know who I am
I am nothing, and no one can help
I lay crying on the floor

I make a scene, but I'm not really there
I'm a zombie, dead but not really alive
Going through each day in the gray matter of life
The days keep coming, one day at a time

My depression drives me on a one way road
On the borderline of dropping out alone

*Such an emotional and very powerful opening. This is exactly how depression feels. Flawless stanza with so much thought put into it.*
    I can't control
    Depression will crash this car
Leaving me strewn across the road
Pieces and limbs are lost and thrown
*OMG, powerful. And depression is most likely to do this because all we would be thinking about is being dead and nothing else would matter.*
Weed, pills, and doctors can not help
    I don't know who I am
I am nothing, and no one can help
I lay crying on the floor
*SO true. Nothing seems to help and we always feel like nothing when depressed. Thought through well.*
I make a scene, but I'm not really there
I'm a zombie, dead but not really alive
Going through each day in the gray matter of life
The days keep coming, one day at a time
*Flawless, powerful, emotional and touching poem, very well written. Loved it, 5/5. Em*
