Perla

by Larry Chamberlin   Sep 26, 2009

Like Li Po, I enjoy the mountain, the wine & the Tao;
Like many, I appreciate the mendicant cats who wander free
Though hungry and rapacious to the wild birds.

We took in such a lonely nomad; three days later
She graced us with four more of her own. We were appalled
That the neighbors who surrendered her denied her sustenance.

"If we fed her, she would have stayed," aye, we did, she has
And we are the better for her company, and that of her kits,
Though homes we now must find for each small breath of life.

    It is quite appaling that people won't take in animals because they simply don't want to be bothered with it. We are better for it if we do and I am sure there will be lessons learned and bonds formed from your new friend. Enjoy. Excellent write and thanks for sharing.

    Take Care,
    Kay
