Tonight She Was Gone

by Scott E Buttross   Jun 15, 2004

Tonight she was gone
I now feel the pain of this earth
Taken by surprise
Brought from euphoric state of being
Experiencing sorrowful death
Heart beating each aching breath
I can remember happiness
But to recall it only brings sadness.
I was fed love,
Only to be choked.
What sick hunger has taken toll on my mind
Spoiled by something I will never find
This motivation was kept by her
Stripped from my body when I slept with her
Years taken away with cold fingertips
Tears salted by her lips
Chapped and torn
Ravaged and worn
She left with it
Love took the best of it
This I will never forget.
