Sitting by the water

by groovydude   Sep 29, 2009

Sitting by the water she stares at the sky
wondering if her life will just pass her by

thinking of days past
and loves that did not last

was this her fault or theirs
or how many still care

starting to cry she wipes the tears
will she ever get over the fears

behind her is a man with love
who made her feel warm, like the sun above

why did she leave him after one year
is he worth sitting here shedding a tear

she packs up her things and goes on her way
looking for that place she will be happy one day

I think the comments above me have said everything. I feel this poem was simple yet brought across feelings and what the author wanted to accomplish. Nicely done!

Regrets bring tears and at times, we all wonder if that past love still cares for us. Well done.
