How far can I reach?

by Someone   Oct 3, 2009

The world darkened by immoral Guidelines,
No longer do they follow the signs.
Blinded by their selfish lies,
falling to their own demise.

No longer will I live a life like this,
No longer I can fully dismiss.
All this time this life has been a lie,
Even when I speak the truth, you'd cry.

I reach for it now, to touch outside the bounds,
No matter how foolish it truely sounds.
I want truth, finally after so long.
Tired of living life that was wrong.

When I ask for the truth from you,
See it through.
Do not lie to me,
Because it will chain me and I will no longer be free.

I reach for it now,
Even though I never knew how.
Perhaps it is all a fairy tale
A book that is on sale.

But I do not care if it will never happen,
You may lie to me.
But I will tell you the truth.
It will hurt.

But atleast I can go on knowing I was honest.
That I did reach for it and I live true.

You lie to the world.
I point out it's flaws.

Loved the title. Loved the ending.

I would've written a better beginning to catch attention, but other than that a great poem. :)

I was looking for other opinions about the world. And I found them in your poem. Nice.

    Favourited. <3
