I'm On The Shelf Then

by Soulful Ensemble   Oct 3, 2009

The talk you used to spew
About seeing me again
Has ceased to come through
As you trap me in a den.

I'm glad for the conclusion
Even if its sad, you know?
I'm glad that its over
And that you now can glow.

You left me for yourself
So that you can smile.
You put me on the shelf
And you'll get me in a while.

Don't think that I wont
Break down as I sit there
Untouched by love and passion
And rusting every where.

But if you should want me
Again, some day; whenever
I'll be rusting on that shelf
And with a heart that's severed.

Don't even think to look
I wouldn't want your selfish ways
To make you put down the book
And care for someone else's day.
