And no more kisses from God.

by Mr Rhee   Oct 3, 2009

The wings are broken, and useless.
Your so familiar freedom is gone...forever.
No more clouds to dance on,
And no more gliding in the night sky.

The wind in your hair, is by nature now.
Your shadows on the ground, closer.
No more watching the world pass below,
And no mountain summits to land on.

The skies above, bid you farewell.
Your new horizons are not so far away.
No more perching on towers to watch men,
And no more birds to talk to.

The pang for flight is painful now.
Your visions of lands far away, only visions.
No more singing with other angels,
And no more everlasting life.

The healing is almost done.
Your legs are stronger by the day.
No more easy travels for you,
And no more looking down to earth.

The whispers in the clouds are past.
Your instincts are for survival now.
No more going on and on and on,
And no more days without hunger.

The wings are mere stubs now.
Your beauty is now born from within.
No more light from inside you,
And no more wishes for you to grant.

The looks up into the sky hurt now.
Your cage is all that around you.
No more happiness like before,
And no more kisses from God.

Wow, this was such a touching write. I am glad that I have stumbled upon you. This write was very painful in retrospect of what the flight is resembling. Though it is caged it will not know hunger of the food type but yet hunger for the things it can no longer do, see, and the visions only visions. My you have a way of wording this and I am simply amazed at this write. Awesome Job!

    Take Care,
