Wish It Were Me

by Beautifully Disfigured   Oct 4, 2009

When you hold her, do you think of me?
When you kiss her, do you wish it were me?
When you fall asleep at night,
Who do you wish were there holding you tight?
When you do the obstacle course,
Who do you wish were there cheering you on until their voice was hoarse?
When you receive a letter,
Who do you wish had written you better?
When you dream of a phone call,
Who do you wish it were from after all?
When you hear the voice in your head,
Who do you wish were in your bed?
When you think about the future,
Who do you see as your wife?
When you think about those two little girls,
Can’t you see it is me not her?
When you think about your family,
Can’t you see it is me not her?
Can’t you see that it is me that loves you,
Not her?

I really liked this poem. It really expressed how you feel. Maybe a little bit of anger? I liked the Rhetorical questions throughout and all the emotive language you've used. Good job
