People laugh and people smile
but through all the while
falsehood lurks through the glass
from veneers of the past
through the shadows
it creeps
through impressions
it seeps
past the silk screen
and touches the heart like expired medication
but beware however, this wickedness that breathes
as well as the motives
hidden underneath
for it is unfortunate
that the many deceived end up
dreary and without reason to smile and laugh as they once have
