Behind A Mask

by No1ButMe   Oct 8, 2009

She leans against the wall
As she slides down
Her knees giving in
She holds onto the razor
The mirror has been shattered
She looks down upon her hand
A bloody mess,
Just like her life,
Broken into a million pieces
Only to give a distorted image of herself
She sees what no one else sees
She hears what no one else hears
Her mind is screaming
And she can't drown out the voices
A single tear forms in her eye
No one could protect her
From all the pain,
Just like the moon
She has a side
No body has ever seen,
The pain becomes so unbearable
She pleads to God
To take away everything
But she gets, no answer
She has given up on life
For people gave up on her long ago
She has scars
Some that may never heal
If you look hard enough
You will see her hurt
She opens up to no one
Because she trusts not a single soul
Everyone she ever trusted
Either left or broke her
Into the nothingness she has become
She believes she is now
Beyond repair, too broken to fix
She picks at the wallpaper
That is just like her
Covering up another part of her
A past no one knows
And never sees
Secrets you'll never find
But slowly coming undone
Her dark hair falls in front of her face
Masking her tears
Just how she lives her life
Always behind a mask...
