Blood Test

by Laurenf7   Oct 8, 2009

Sweat trickles down my forehead
As the nurse calls my name
I recall happy memories
And begin to endure the pain.

The needle is inserted
Into my vein it goes
Her expression changes slowly
As my blood stops to flow.

Stars appeared all around me
No sound can be heard
My eyes begin to flicker
To block the sight I bared.

My following actions are slow
On the ground I lay
Two test tubes still to be taken
This adds to my "perfect" day.

No veins could be found inside
Which made me think of you
My great, patient grandfather
The amount of tests you have been through.

A song was repeated in my head
Whilst my body remained weak
The test was finally successful
As my tears began to leak.

Aww... wow.. this poem was interesting.. A lot of people have a fear of needles and blood tests because that can indicate problems and you portrayed this well in this poem. Good job
