Creep

by InterviewWithTheKat   Oct 10, 2009

A thrumming heart is heard
And his presence is the drummer.
You'll find he's come at night
Though he'll tread as soft as summer.

He's velvet covered steel
Though his touch leaves not a mark.
He's creeping up the stairs,
Shadows married with the dark.

Silence hums its tune
And his voice as silver falls.
Though not a peek is heard outside,
He whispers to the walls.

An ear pressed to your door
Pulls you out of bed to check,
But regret speeds up the drums

For now he's breathing down your neck.

Hey lovelies.

I've decided to go back to what i'm best at for a while.

I adore free verse, but my work is only truely loved when its back inside its dark/fantasy, rhyming roots. Apparently my rhyming work is more atmospheric and it seems to capture your imaginations more than most of my work.

I like writing a piece that lingers on in the mind.

Hope you guys enjoy it!

Lots of feedback please.
