Another Vampire Movie

by Red Velvet   Oct 15, 2009

I drove with the pale moon
rising up to the right.
A faceless usher, clothed in
black satin.
Stars: elegant trek lights
Assisting up the aisles

I parked beneath an
old magnolia
An old lady,
back row
Heady, arresting, scent ---
Her perfume

I walked a path that led to a
rippling creek
Croaking
Soakin creatures
Opening credits

Then
Enters
Vampire

He grasped me by gaze, and by temple.
A gypsy prince bent over a crystal orb
What did I reveal?
Nothing?
All?

Then, he bit me.

Hot, buttery popcorn
sliding down
Thirsting for the big, over-sized cup
Is this Love?

"We Will Be Together, Evermore!"
Booming voice
Climatic moment
Uh-oh
Hero wants wrong door.

My foot falls asleep. I kicked the chair.

For the price of a ticket spent
The morning lark sings
The lights go on --

I had to leave my vampire
smoldering
in the bright sunlight
Now...
I have to find my car.

Thank-you. I started out by trying to connect my night with a vampire with being 'like' going to a movie, and then, now... *shrugs* That last line leaves the whole poem open to interpretation. Did I go for a walk by a creek, or did I go to the theater? I'm not telling! Lol.
