Wasted Genius

by Colby   Oct 15, 2009

He's got it all figured out
in his head
But He would just assume
That he was dead
Ask him a question
He'll know the answer
But he wishes
He did not

Love is made of greed
And fairy tale dreams
When you wake up
it's not how it seemed
"I just wish I was happy"
Into the night he screamed
But so did
The heroin fiend

A wasted genius
Lying on the floor
Drunk on knowledge
That will kill him for sure
But he's not scared of dying
Just of what happens next
And how life
And death connects

So I'll pour myself another drink
Intoxicate to a point I can't think
I'm tired of trying to find
The link
Because if love was an ocean
I'm certain I'd sink
Just like the saying
Said by the old
A language unknown
Is a story untold

But I'll probably never learn
I know I'll never learn.
(To love)
