I Get to Feel the Love

I Get to Feel the Love by Ray Smallshaw

At my age I do not have to hold or hide my emotions or feeling anymore so I can share them with those I choose,

As God has blessed me with all I will ever need and more, as around me are those I love, my wife Ooy, my children, grandchildren and my dogs,

Enough love if not more than I deserve surrounds me and my heart is full with what they give me, their Love, the pride, the joy and most of all the belonging,

I sometimes feel like one of the chosen ones and what at times seems like a trivial moment, when I look back can fill me with its wonder,

Examples of this are, waking in the mornings next to my beautiful wife who always fills my heart with love, joy and the pride I feel that she is by my side,

Or when my three Pugs Scott, Lek and Max are in my arms and they share with me their smelly breath kisses and the feel of their fur, my heart nearly always bursts with the sensations and feelings of love they give me,

Or when I tell off my Chihuahua, Big and he looks at me with his large sorrowful eyes, he melts my heart and makes me feel rotten, he always wins me over in the end I love him so,

Or when my Poodle Cookie a Blond harpy of a dog who with the flick of her eyebrows can wrap me around her paws, as she can win any ones heart human or animal,

She is a one off being proud, willful and cruel to all who do not bow to her, yet we all do as we love her independence she makes us feel alive and our world is much more wonderful because of her,

So through getting to feel all this love everyday I know that there is a God as he touches me through the sharing of it.
