Diary of a Torn Heart

by Anthony M   Oct 15, 2009

Silently sitting, staring into the void
shards of yesterday flash the mind
emotionless and numb, frozen in place
minutes turn to hours as the memories
like uninvited guests refuse to take their leave.

Sun falls low in the autumn sky
mind wandering, seeking answers
finding only more questions
chest heaves, lips elicit sighs
love's charred remains upon the soul.

Burdened like on Ox, guilt takes hold
such anguish and pain surely deserved
answers knock lightly upon the mind's door
fearfully reaching for the portal's handle
a familiar sight lays beyond, eyes find the mirror.

What a very sad emotion filled piece.

The memories that seem to break our hearts over and over again seem to be the ones that find us when we are most vunrable.

    Great job!

Sad memories can tear our hearts apart and we tend to relive them like reading the pages of a dairy. Well done.
