Lost At Sea Lament

by Shalkan   Oct 15, 2009

Twenty-some years, has she been lost at sea
The heavens above reflect against the starry deep
Sand on the shore and will the tides to slow
Will the waves to calm and the winds will cease to blow

Cast into the sea, your letters never sent
Washed up in return, your lover's lost lament
You can fill your mind with melody, fill your bed with w hores
You're just waiting for the day that your lover's washed ashore

Trouble in your head, there's a tempest in your eye
Brewing raw and cruel since the news of her demise
But you would weave a tourniquet all around the earth
And drain the water from the seas to set the sands a-stir

But if you searched, yourself, every single grain of sand
All you'll have to show will be bones and tired hands
Glowing brilliant white against the pallor of your skin
You'll melt into each other and be together once again

Forgive the sea, my friend, and ask not her tides to part
For she's consumed a treasure very dear to your own heart
The seas will not be purged- what remains of your lost lover
Seek comfort in the w hores, and on dry land take cover
