Time doesn't waste [ we waste ourselves ]

by DreamingOutLoud   Oct 15, 2009

I am an isolated tree dancing beneath the clouds
It's going to rain but the roots refuse to listen to the bi-directional birds
They whisper and try to persuade the colorless branches to fade; cannot fade away

Standing tall with naked barks
Wonderful things are passing this life by
Cannot tint a deeper shade of black in the sky
Won't give in, won't surrender without a fight

Seasons change and I have remained the same
Some days are good while others dig my grave
I thought standing still was easier than moving forward
But my horizon projects a longer destination
Got to stop time; got to stop this procrastination.
