Poetic in Death

by Brandy   Oct 16, 2009

She was paper, dissolving
from acid words
Now she holds the midnight sky
when the moon is on her back

She breathes into my room
some chant of tortured ecstasy
Spinning thoughts of glass
until they shatter at my feet

Her teeth are vicious
in the madness of her hunger
As I've seen her taking lovers-
Exquisitely, she eats their pain

The taste of her is blood
and bitter
Burning faith-
She devastates

A haunted destiny, unsettled
She was paper, dissolving
from acid words
Still, death could not erase her

Now she holds the midnight sky
when the moon is on her back
