For each time you say it
I know what's coming.
Like when you say you love me
"But"
You want to quit
Your heart is not loving.
I truly hate the word "but"
Because I know what follows.
Pretty soon I will feel cut
And my heart will be so hollow.
I despise the word "but"
And everytime you use it.
Like when you say " I love you but.."
"Not the way you want it."
