Waiting Outside For Death's Rattle

by Soulful Ensemble   Oct 28, 2009

Breathing is dying
As misery's hand shakes.
Twisted thoughts of flying
Deceive a soul that breaks.

Memories that can't be spoken
Of thoughts pain has swallowed;
The bitter sweet emotions
Make a heart so hollow.

Pushing through life not caring
Tired of the life of cattle
Beneath the silver moon wearing
The bell that makes death's rattle.

To live is nothingness
We have a void to fill.
But I only have emptiness
And so much time to kill.

I have no desire
To feel a little smile.
I have lost the wires
That made it all worthwhile.
