More Than A Name

by The Lady of Shalott   Oct 28, 2009

She cries her life away,
at the end of every night.
Wondering why nothing
she ever does is"right".

She's lived by their Bible,
she could die by the pill.
She wants to know,
how eternal relief may feel.

They categorize her as
just another statistic.
When the doc said bipolar,
her mom went ballistic.

"What will society think?",
is all her mother could say.
Maybe if she thought of her daughter,
She'd still be here today.

It wasn't enough,
that she hid it from view.
She wasn't allowed to hurt,
even after what she'd been through!

But now we gather here,
as she's taken her life.
No chance for her to be a mom,
she'll never be a wife.

But her broken spirit is now at peace,
and is THAT not enough,
to turn to the person beside you,
and express your love?
For, you never know who's hurting,
you may never see their pain,
But every single person,
is MORE than just a name.
