Two Poppies

by Joe Eijyuu   Oct 29, 2009

Her lips in the distant meadow
Sway like a scarlet poppy and they blow
Their warm kisses onto me like a Cupid's arrow
So deep in my heart arresting my love for tomorrow.

When that tomorrow comes I will be another poppy
Beside her and leans over to her lips amorously
And we dance petal to petal in a grassy alley
Until the dusk invites Milky Way.

As the stars stroll East to West
They cling closer together for warm comfort,
While he whispers some love poems like a poet
She combs her soft petals with the breeze of the night.

Delighted and elated are the poppies when the dawn
Was broken with the brilliant ray of morning sun
Yet they don't want their fused lips undone
Or their petals would frown.
