Fairy tale

by NineteenMinutes   Oct 29, 2009

You just don't understand what it's like to be me,
Expected to be someone you never will be,
Expected for greatness even though you will fail,
Sometimes I pray that I could no longer be real,
No one understands me they just think they know,
All of the things I try not to show,
My opinion's worth nothing as long as I smile,
And pretend I'm invisible just for a while,
They don't know my future yet they pretend,
That I'm Cinderella with a fairy tale end,
They want a doll that they can mold,
An innocent child who'll do what they're told,
And they don't understand who they've made me be,
They act like my friends but they don't really know me,
They think it is harmless to fill you with lies,
To push you forward blind to the failed tries,
But what they don't understand is that I am screaming,
They intoxicated me with all they were dreaming,
But the higher the horse, the higher the glory,
The harder the fall, the more tragic the story.
