Naked

by Lady Nik   Oct 31, 2009

Skin dried worse than
autumn covered leaves.
I felt your touch once
like the water feels the breeze.
I am what I have always been
not an angel close to the devil
not ever a godsend.

Now that years have
bent to the ways of time
We are nothing again
and I lost the meaning of life.
I whisper words that lose their form
in the silence of the air
they have nowhere to belong.

My emotions struggle to get
past the wall inside of me
Brick and asphalt and hollowed glue
I will never be free.
My body emotionally bleak
I stand here emptied of my voice
with no mountain top to reach.

The imagery is very strong in this piece especially in the first few lines it really sets the tone for this. Kind of sad in way to feel like their is absolutely no hope to achieve anything great than what you already have. Great job as always 5/5
