Gonna be okay

You said let's end this thing
i said ok because i didn't want to hurt you
and now im here alone,
thinking of you and everything you do,
i still have these feelings inside of me
but im trying to get them out of my head
so that we can both just be,
let our hearts leave here and wander
let our hearts find another
so that we won't hurt while we ponder
for the reason why we arent meant to be
and why we couldn't see what everything we do would lead us to?
now all we can do
is get over the past and let the future come to us,
protect our hearts
so that while they fall in something called love,
we can stop before we shatter them,
even just one tear in my heart
slowly begins to break it like a bullet flying through it,
this heart is gonna be okay
as long as i know that as far as friends go,
