Swept Off Pace

by Daniel Milano   Nov 3, 2009

Growing out of phases,
I am finally at peace,
Throwing out phrases,
Like last but not least.

The first to mature,
Gone are the fits of rage,
My mood is secured,
Like a pitbull in a cage.

I have pieced myself together,
Down to the last shard,
I considered myself better,
But I was caught offguard.

This woman had a style,
Which shouted I'm the queen,
Matched with just a smile,
To prove she wasn't mean.

At first, she poked some fun,
Knocked me off my game,
Then the joke I spun,
And to her I did the same.

She used to be the queen,
But I proclaimed her throne,
This wasn't her routine,
So I let my name be known.

I lead her through a chat,
A course of many topics,
Like a tire never flat,
We were racing through like rockets.

The mood was growing intimate,
Two love birds on a branch,
She was really getting into it,
When I made my advance.

Been in many relationships,
I wondered if Love really could exist,
I glanced down at her delicate lips,
Then I leaned in slowly for the kiss.

A heavenly night, sent from above,
It would not go to waste,
Is this what they all call Love?
Because I enjoy the taste!
