Come Around

by Jackie   Nov 8, 2009

Intoxication, infatuation, i can taste you on my tongue
the line between just friends and almost lovers
is all in good clean fun.
lust is obvious and i surrender
because i'm tired of playing defender.
slurred words, i can hear you breathing -
kiss me, hold me, you're so good at teasing.

we'll say its just physical
but my hearts only crystal, and what's the use in our lies?
your past memories pinpoint my flaws
and break me; shake me; see through my doors.
smeared make up and jagged edges, when everything meant everything
but the drunken pledges.
to hear you tell about what i never was
cuts deeper than you could imagine because i want to be your everything and more.

the morning after i fall short of empty, but it's too good to waste; too damn tempting.
it always means more to those less worthy
avaricious disposition, i crave your every touch,
your intelligence is rooted deep, so am i asking you too much?
with one look you pierce me with those eyes
reality is lost, leaving only oblivion and lies.

late nights we answer questions with questions
3am cause and effect boils down to self perception.
self indulgence, you find serenity in your fear
lost words being found, no one is lonely here.
let your fingers linger as confusion still prevails
i'll be here for you, waiting, even when all else fails.
