Scars

by Countess of Monte Cristo   Nov 9, 2009

The days of tears have disappeared
I've grown strong like a rock.
I focus on improving myself now,
For sometime, my heart will be locked.

The days of regret has passed me by,
And today I stand alone.
The wind has hit me hard on the face,
But it made me tough as stone.

The days of desperation are gone,
I learned how to suck it in.
The rules of life's game
Is that I either lose or win.

Instead I chose to stand on my feet,
And to have everything in control.
Yet, losing track was so easy for me,
Until it started getting old.

I call myself no victim,
I fall hard but stand again.
This is how it's supposed to be,
No matter where, or how and when.

Don't sit down and pity yourself,
Just stand up and learn from the past.
Life moves on and some scars will heal,
Bitter days just don't last.

I don't regret a thing in my life,
The bad days made me strong.
This tough life did come in handy-
It taught me right from wrong.

And now, I stand here today,
To tell you what I feel.
Sometimes the pain seems to be eternal,
But life moves on and scars do heal.

*Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.- Confucious

Very inspirational. Like you said, "Sometimes the pain seems to be eternal, But life moves on and scars do heal." These words are very true & yes you're right the past should stay in the past especially when it's bad. 5/5, Em

With time scars do heal. It is crucial that when we do fall and we will at sometime in our lives, that we pick ourselves up and move on. Well done.
