Mirror.

by Marilyn   Nov 12, 2009

This moment in fragments
i want to see your face
before it fades
and decays into nothing
but another memory.

your voice is soft
and pleading
not at all how it used to be
when you were strong

its velvet melancholy
proves you're fading here
but this prison
is one you built yourself

your eyes,
oh, your eyes,
how they used to shine
with incandescent hope!

now I watch
with bitter recognition
as reality takes away the shine
of life, hope and dreams.

don't fade away, love,
don't fall to the path of knowing
please, stay ignorant
here in your prison of dreams

the world is a terrible place
and for innocent beauty,
autumn always comes
to take away, and change.
