To Them These Streets Belong

by Beautiful Chaos   Nov 12, 2009

Weak of mind
Faint of heart
The ones who'll lead
When we depart

Unredeemed
Our saving grace
Ruined souls
Who change the race

Money's honey
Starve to death
Pay to breathe
Your dying breath

Parched
From all the hate we pass
Water
All but turned to glass

Nothing quenches
Like the truth
Still we hide it
From our youth

Final moments
Say it all
Who will come
To brace your fall

The ones you killed
With all your shame
Sorry souls
Who face your blame

The ones who grew
Without our care
To shoulder burdens
We can't bear

These streets we pave
With broken dreams
Sinful wishes
Pain filled screams

Children dying
Just to hope
Inside a world
That cannot cope

A moving and effectively delivered contemplation...

This is another excellent piece, Jenn. A very important message, what we leave behind for the children, after all they are the future of the world.
