Goodbye

by Mimed Lovette   Nov 13, 2009

Before I say,
my last goodbyes,
I gather the sides up
and merge with the crowd.
Turn my head away from you
and join them on the shelves.
The common thing bound,
we, being your diminished halves.

Just another lost number,
accidental intrusion
upon the book you call life,
just another chapter.
I'll end off what I started,
leave when I first entered.
Let go of the lone thing,
which kept us both up high.

The beginning was fascinating,
that rainbow in the sky
then the storm slowly takes over,
and tears on our remains.
Promises shouldn't be given,
but you took both of my hands
I know it's time to leave,
our story's never meant.

Bleed crimson, ruby but never black;
my trust in you would never fade.
I hold your image in my mind;
not contorted, never distorted,
only gently smeared and jaded.
Thy the first, hope not the last,
the love hath come and gone like the past.
