Little Girl (Alive yet Dead)

by The Lady of Shalott   Nov 14, 2009

Deep in a forest
crowded with trees
There lives a small child
whom no one sees

Her cries go unheard
falling on silent ears
Surrounded by Darkness
surrounded by fears

She walks down a path
Where does it go?
What awaits her...
only I know.

This little girl
Resides in my head,
but this sweet child
has long-since been dead.

Her heart may beat,
but that doesn't make her alive.
I remember so clearly,
the moment she died...
