Years down the road
and i sit here
re writing old feelings,
old thoughts.
things have become normal now,
the fact that these emotions
and impossible thoughts
are an everyday thing,
so I've trained myself
not to make much of it.
i can still sing the songs,
write the poems,
read the past
but it has less meaning
and these emotions that used to be sung
are now just plain old simple songs.
just the matter of getting used to things
around here,
so i don't live everyday of my life
dragging myself along,
because who can drag their own weight
every single day of their life
until they die?
sometimes, you just have to let go
of some baggage
and lighten the load
so you can lift your head up
and face forward.
