Society's Knight.

by Daphne Darling   Jun 16, 2004

Silhouetted against a crimson background,
The knight raises his blood red sword,
In a slow arc he brings it down,
Right upon the head of an innocent,
Deaths black shadow follows this knight,
For every where he goes, so does Death,
This knight brings death on innocent souls,
Away they are taken,
In the blink of an eye their life is spent,
And for what reason are they condemned to this?
The reason that they dared to be themself,
For the name of this knight is so well known,

You know him, I know him, and they know him,
Society’s sword is tainted red with blood,
His armour has the stench of death about it,
His steps lay down the dust of bones,

This knight's armour no longer shines,
Dull and blood stained it is,
Hi blade is getting blunter every day,
But still he is spilling the blood of innocents.
Clunk, clunk, clunk, he makes that sound every day,
Yet none hear it?
His heavy armour never weighs him down,
For he moves faster than anyone else,
He condemns those that dare to oppose him,
In all his glory, he is the ruthless killer,
Those that oppose him have the guts to,
Not many last long,

You know him, I know him, and they know him,
Society’s sword is tainted red with blood,
His armour has the stench of death about it,
His steps lay down the dust of bones,

Society’s rein is coming to an end,
Enough blood lays in his wake,
His boots bloodied,
His armour bloodied,
His helm bloodied,
His sword stain in the blood of innocents,
The dust of decaying flesh scattered across his face,
Bones hang from him,
RUN,
SCREAM,
FEAR,
Do this to no avail,
He will still get all that oppose him.
