HEAVENLY FOCUS

by Kevin   Jun 16, 2004

I wonder
I ponder
I look o8ut over the rim of yonder
to a place of cellotaped dreams
a thousand seams
where women smile in sweet denial
as they whip their husbands
to the rat race of life’s
miles
And then later politely talking
over endless cups of Earl Grey
about how quaint everything is
these days
about stars’n cars and life on Mars
but never about how they’re feeling
to be reeling
from the squealing of simply being
that would result in a room with
many frowns and
“ R U feelings down? “ my dear?
And why?
is it wrong to be wondering
why our hearts keep on thundering
and we keep on breathing
even though we’re not believing
In God
the sod
the heartless creator
the giver and the taker
the guy who made the spark
only to leave us in the dark
while he sits on his throne
in his heavenly home
watching the fight
as we fumble for the light

Yo Shakespeare, i admire such direct negative opinions from someone who doesn't seem to have any poems of their own i might peruse for hints on how to improve.

I happen to know you are wrong though tough guy [or gal]. I'm good enough to be published several times by editors who clearly know more about writing than you. Whats the matter? Did i give you a harsh review while everyone else was placating you?

Send me a poem by yourself so i may be enlightened as to what good writing is.
