What If?

by Emi   Nov 20, 2009

I think you should go, you shouldn't be here.
You dont want me, you've made that quite clear.
It's a shame, 'cos together we'd be great.
I guess we are just not held in the hands of fate.
But I'll keep going, and I'll stay strong,
And I'll miss you, even though I haven't known you long.
But what I do know, I like,
Like the way you stroke my face at night.
I sometimes wish; What if?
What if you were mine?
Could I have you for all time?
Could I tell everyone that I am your girl?
Could I tell everyone that you are my world?
Then I see reality hit me in the face,
And I see that for "us" there is no place,
Cos you are not mine, and for that I cannot stay in line,
I want you, I need you, I have to have you.
I can't deal with all the pain and strife,
Like a stab to my heart with the sharpest knife,
Everyday you go on without knowing,
All these feelings I'm not showing,
So go, leave, be gone with yourself,
And I'll just go back to being the last book on the shelf.

You describe feelings very good and the way you transpose them into poems, great.
