Eyes on Fire

by Poet on the Piano   Nov 22, 2009

O' torch of dawn breathe
the essence of love
across aging highlands
of wandering souls.

Let your golden blood
dispel into rivers
of sunlight angels
who exhale fireflies.

Guide your liquid wings
to descend upon sea
so that you might cover
its delirious mouth.

Harvest song among
the spirit givers
who will tranquilize
blinding atmosphere.

Arouse candlelight
atop misty mountains
so winding tunnels
will discern a new hope.

Speak inviting psalms
and set my soul
in the midst of your sight
where I will dance with flames.

I think it's great that you can braid your religion & beliefs into the beauty of nature. Torch of dawn, golden blood, sunlight angels, fireflies, blinding atmosphere - you sure portray a brilliantly blazing morning sun!
    "Arouse candlelight
    atop misty mountains
    so winding tunnels
will discern a new hope." The glorious dawn awakens the gloomiest of souls & those who have lost their footing are given renewed hope.
"Dance with flames" - It's interesting that you would choose these words as a vessel of God. I often associate flames & fire not with Heaven, but with Hell. However, I think you do well to turn fire - the powerful and fierce - into something holy rather than evil.
    Good write.

You have a talent many on her could only dream of, MaryAnne. Don't let the little people get under your skin with their petty downvoting crap;)

You are on of THE most talented young poets on this site..and far better than the ones who have access to the downvote-button on here.

    YOU ROCK GIRL !!

You have such a unique imagination -- golden blood was one of the images that really stood out to me. There were many more though. Really well done, truly its nice to see something original and not dull and boring. Keep it up!! (:

    O' torch of dawn breathe
    the essence of love
    across aging highlands
    of wandering souls.
