Speaking With My Mouth Taped Shut

by Alicia   Nov 23, 2009

With tape over my mouth,
I cannot speak my mind.

Too many thoughts to sort through,
Too many that I find.

I cannot take the silence,
It screams inside my head.

I'm going through a breakdown,
Well, at least I'm not dead.

With tape over my mouth,
I'm trying to understand.

How is it that with silence,
You somehow can withstand?

As soon as my tears dry,
More seem to trickle down.

I'm sending myself into depression,
Because I can't make sound.

With tape over my mouth,
I find a new way to speak.

I'll just have to pray,
That you don't find me weak.

I birth my words to paper,
and tape them to the wall.

Not everyone loves silence,
But I love you Paul.
