The Ghosts of Eternity

by Larry Chamberlin   Nov 25, 2009

Faith asks us to abandon the blue daylight of this bright world
For hope in the ghost of our spirit's eternity.

Humanity asks us to forgo selfish pleasure and greed
For trust in the ghost of our specie's eternity.

Science asks us to stop this toxic waste and unfettered growth
For the needs of the ghost of our earthly eternity.

Buddha asks us to see through the veneer of our current state
For knowledge of the ghost of cosmic eternity.

Entropy lays to rest all the ghosts of eternity.
