Candy

by Dawn Ariscent   Nov 27, 2009

I am a indulgence
A sweet too sugary
To be healthy

I indulge
My own habits
Are far from healthy

Honestly, I am obscure
The leftover candy on the shelf
Too old to eat
Too young to throw away

My packaging is misleading
Yet so straight-forward

I am bright-colored
With nothing but unhealthy labeling
No one cares

I am picked up by a few
And loved

Picked up by others
And abandoned

The smile is my best
True as my heart
Which is a notorious liar
And the most honest thing I know
