Cat'in Around

by Michael D Nalley   Nov 30, 2009

Lying here smokin' and half snoozin'
I'm thinkin' about givin' up the boozin'
Came on to an alley cat just last night
She told me to scat get out of her sight

When you get so far down its hard to get up
Don't feel like I've got the strenth to hiccup
Too many wild women and to many wives
I've almost used up all of my nine lives

I have hardly rested since I was just a tiny kitten
Seems catastrophies follow, and catacresis are written
Can't change me, or relieve my knack for cataclysm
Preaching temperance with catachesis or catachism

What am I doing here? I should be sleeping like a log.
Should I get up to take a nip of the hair of the dog?
Problem drinker? I drink, get drunk, and fall down
What is the problem, I am just cat'in around?

Very..interesting haha. Was good for humorous, but at points it felt like it was being forced in (such as rhyming and lines ect.) Good poem otherwise, develop off of this and you'll be very good :) 4/5
