Love Hunters

by Anthony M   Dec 2, 2009

Two hunters seeking their prey
finding each other in the twilight
unaware of mutual intent to slay,
seduction begins without a fight.

Their passions seek erotic fulfillment
drinking heavily in each other's tides,
he surrenders and gives his consent,
over his lost soul she now presides.

Another trophy makes her feel empowered
oblivious to her game he dances with death,
gorging himself in her meadows for hours
she feels alive as he starts his last breath.

Steely knife finds the devil inside
artful seductress was never fooled,
writhing in pain the wolf is wide eyed
freely she roams where he once ruled.

What a great piece. The ending was not what I was expecting. It added so much to the poem. Wonderful imagery. The picture you painted with your words is awesome.
    Excellent!

Love hunters, applied to animals as well as humans and it is sad when these things happen. Well done.

I agree a very intense piece, had me wondering how it was going to end. Wonderfully written.
